But what about the cost of therapy?
One of the first questions we are often asked is the cost of therapy. At Emerge, we understand that therapy can be expensive and we do everything we can to make therapy affordable for parents. The bigger question might be to ask yourself what is the cost of not doing therapy? What is the long-term impact for your child and your family, if they continue to struggle with communication, sensory, motor, social and/or behavioral challenges? We know that most children do not outgrow these challenges and those persistent struggles coping with the demands of everyday life, often lead to secondary self-esteem, behavioral and/or emotional consequences.
At Emerge, we offer an initial parent consultation for $75. At this consultation, you sit down with an experienced therapist (often the director) to discuss your child and determine your child’s needs. The therapist is then able to make educated recommendations regarding your child which could range from a simple screening or school observation to a comprehensive evaluation or referral to a different agency if indicated.
Emerge is a primarily a private pay clinic. Because other locations frequently imposing a facility fee of $136-150 per session, Emerge is now often the most economical choice for families. We provide all the necessary paper work and receipts with appropriate codes for families to submit to insurance. We find that most families are reimbursed 60-80 % of the cost of therapy, although this does vary depending on the type of policy.
Large corporations such as IBM or SAS often offer a separate funding source that will cover the therapy and educational needs of children with special needs. Your personnel director or a phone call to your insurance company can easily confirm your specific benefits.
In the case of documented economic hardship, we may sometimes offer a small scholarship to cover a portion of the cost of therapy.
We are able to bill for Healthy Choice and Medicaid and reserve a limited number of slots for children under those programs.
Please feel free to call our office at anytime so that we may assist in your child receiving care at Emerge!
